Male Fertility & Sperm Health: Acupuncture & Chinese Herbal Medicine for Conception
Enhancing Sperm Health & Fertility with Natural Medicine
I work with many men who want to improve their fertility—whether they’re planning for a baby, facing unexplained infertility, or looking to optimise sperm health. It’s now widely recognised that male fertility plays an equal role in conception, and sperm quality can directly impact pregnancy success.
Acupuncture and/or Chinese herbal medicine have been shown to support sperm health by improving motility, concentration, abnormal forms, and DNA integrity. Research suggests acupuncture can enhance sperm count and movement, while Chinese herbs help balance hormones, improve circulation, and reduce inflammation—all essential for healthy sperm development.
Fertility challenges can also be influenced by many factors, including lifestyle, stress, gut health, and thyroid function. When working together, if we feel there is a need for further investigation, I work with testing facilities that offer deeper insights into sperm health. This includes DNA fragmentation analysis and semen microbiome testing through ScreenMe, which identifies bacterial and yeast species with 99.99% accuracy. I also collaborate with Invivo Healthcare for gut microbiome testing, as gut health plays a key role in overall well-being and fertility.
If you’d like to explore how I might be able to support your fertility, get in touch—I offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss how I can help.
